Step 2 Next, we translate the sketches into 3D CAD drawings. It’s starting to look real now, and this helps us fine tune the final details. Step 3 Now it’s time to make the mold we’ll use to cast your custom piece. It is true-to-size and has every detail so you can see it “for real” before it’s real. Step 4 Next we melt gold, platinum, or silver into the mold. Step 5 Afterwards the metal is polished and readied for the final diamond or gemstone setting.
